Sites
In an essay form, write an evaluation to include your analysis of
- Design of the web site:
Your impressions of the layout, specifically the display of information; i.e., the balance
between text and image, color scheme, size of fonts, and maneuverability within the
web
site.
- Accuracy: Use your textbook to compare and
contrast the correctness of information. Answer any question posed in the weekly
assignments (e.g. on the Dawes Act in week 1).
- Authority: Who or what institutions are the
source of authority for the web site? Check the URL domain.
- Objectivity: Is there a bias or point of
view?
- Recent Coverage: How current is the
web
site? Is anything from links to information outdated?
Also what other links are worth visiting? Would you
recommend this web site?
Finally, your report should be in a hard
copy, between 2-3 pages, double spaced, normal margins, spell-checked, and in 10
or 12 point font. Also - attach the Home page (page 1) of each web site
of each report along with your current email address.

Museum/Presidential Libraries

- Name of Museum or Presidential Library.
- Purpose of Museum or Presidential Library.
- Theme of the current exhibition.
- Effectiveness of the presentation of the exhibition.

- Why was this film produced?

- What does the film tell you about the manners and mores of
the historical period of this film?
- Identify the themes of the movie.
- Is the acting and the use of the camera effective?
- How much is the film a reflection of the state of mind, the
stereotyping, or the prejudices of those portrayed in this film?
- Would you recommend this film? Why or why not?
- What changes, if any would you make in this film?
- All reports should be between 2-3 pages (double Spaced/word
processor).
Lectures
In an essay form, write an evaluation of the lecture to include
the following items:
- Name of Lecturer.
- Date, place, time, and title of lecture.
- Identify the themes of the lecture.
- Outline the main points of the lecture.
- How effective was the delivery of the lecture?
- Did the lecture contribute to your better understanding of
history? How?
- Would you recommend this lecture? Why or why not?
- All reports should be between 2-3 pages (double spaced/word
processor).
- For verification, attach ticket stub to your report.
Book Report
In an essay form, organize your analysis of the book to include
the following items:
- Synopsis: in 50 words or less, state the theme/thesis
of the book.
- Critical Analysis: in your own words, analyze
the book along these lines:
- Why was the book written?
- What are the sources of information?
- Does the author believe that history makes the
person or does the person make history?
- Does the author emphasize certain areas of history?
Why?
- Identify the point of view of the author.
- Would you make any changes in the book?
- Would you recommend this book? Why or why not?
