Welcome to your Instructional Internet-based, INTRODUCTION TO HUMAN SERVICES.
YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
I
received my Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Political Science and Master’s
degree in Anthropology from Cal State University, Long Beach. My Ph.D in
Anthropology and Social Science is from University of California, Irvine. My
areas of teaching and publications include human services, community
development, applied cultural anthropology, organization and medical
anthropology.
This course is for students who are planning or have already begun careers in human services, counseling, psychology, social work, or related helping professions. I will provide an overview of the helping process, with a discussion of the personal characteristics and skills that enable helpers to be effective as agents of change and support to those most in need in our society
