We are to use the cutting edge educational technology along with the textbook and online instructional materials. These include Video Lectures, PowerPoint Presentations, Tutorial Exercises, Practice Tests, Interactive Explorations, and online-based Discussion Boards. How Do I Get Started?

  1. Register for Math 180 Summer 2007 Section #8155 with Coastline College.
  2. E-mail your Letter of Agreement to the Distance Learning Department.
  3. Buy the textbook and solution manual for “Calculus – Early Transcendentals,” 11th edition by author George Thomas, and publisher Pearson/Addison Wesley, 2006.
  4. Before continuing, watch the short video which familiarizes you with the MyMathLab and Math Distance Learning in general.
  5. A student access code will have been supplied to you for free in the MyMathLab packet. Use this code to register at http://www.coursecompass.com/ccindex.html by clicking on “Student Register,” enter Course ID: lee66018 and follow the directions.
  6. If you are using the used book or not buying the book from Coastline Bookstore you must purchase a Student Access Code, by going to http://info.coursecompass.com/website/student_register.html and click on purchasing online access, enter Course ID lee66018
  7. Use your Student Access Code to register in the course Web site –CourseCompass, http://www.coursecompass.com/ccindex.html, click on “Student Register”, enter Course ID and follow the directions.
  8. After registration log in http://www.coursecompass.com with your login name and password. If you have login problem, please call Tech Support at 1-800-677-6337 or e-mail support@coursecompass.com
  9. AOL Users: You will need Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.

  10. Technical requirements include a PC running Windows 2000 or XP with Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, and a valid e-mail address. Mac users: contact the instructor for more information.

  11. Post your questions on the course’s Discussion Board. I will visit the Board several times a day to answer your questions and problems. You are urged to post your biography so that your online classmates and I would get to know you better.

Your learning outcomes and semester grade will be assessed by the following measurements:

  3. Midterm Exam
  4. Final Exam
