Welcome to the AMERICAN
GOVERNMENT Internet Course:
I am Richard B. Boddie (say
"body"), and I have been teaching Political Science and History at
Coastline College for four years now.
If I look familiar or the name
does, it's not just because I'm often mistaken for Ed Bradley of
CBS "60 Minutes" (I have no earring), but if you have voted in
California since 1992, you would have seen my name on the ballot
on a few occasions. I was a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 1992
and 1994 having run against Difi on both occasions (along with
five or six others in the general election. And I also ran for
Congress in 2000 against Loretta (Playboy Mansion) Sanchez here in
Orange County, and was also the Press Secretary for the Steve
Kubby for Governor campaign in California in 1998. I have had the
pleasure to appear on C-SPAN a few times over the years - doing
politics.
For over 30 years, I have
taught in various disciplines, as an adjunct instructor at various
institutions such as: Monroe Community College, Rochester
Institute of Technology, National University, UC Irvine
(Extension), Chapman College, Barkley College, University of
LaVerne, ELS Learning Centers among others, and lectured
worldwide.
In addition to politics and
teaching, I have been a professional speaker for over 20 years
now, and have previous affiliation with a host of other companies,
groups, and institutions, such as: having previously been the
"Citizen Advocate" - the PBS sponsored television ombudsman show
on WCNY-TV in Syracuse, NY; working for Eastman Kodak Company; New
York Life Insurance Company; Wells Fargo Bank; Xerox Corporation;
the National Center For Dispute Settlement of the American
Arbitration Association; hosted the talk-radio show "Black To
White" in Rochester, N.Y.; and served as a New York State
Administrative Hearing Officer for years, and most recently as the
first Director of Admissions at the new Chapman University School
of Law, also here in Orange County.
I received my Bachelors in
Political Science from Bucknell University, on "the Hill” in
Lewisburg, Pennsylvania (the Federal penitentiary is in the
valley), and my Juris Doctor from Syracuse University in "Upstate"
New York.
Sincerely,
RBB
