How This Course Will Flow

Each week you will have a text assignment. Go to the Unit indicated on the schedule page and read over the chapter learning objectives and then read the chapter assignment. After completing your reading, answer the questions pertaining to the chapter on your quiz.

Look at the online quizzes and print them out for your use (you will find links to the quizzes on the Schedule Page in the weeks they are due). The quiz questions are written in chronological order, by chapter. You should answer the questions as you progress in your reading. If you do not know an answer, go back to the reading and look it up. When the quiz is due, go online and complete the quiz using the responses you have on your printed copy. You will receive your quiz score at your e-mail address automatically.

You will have two short essay assignments that will allow you to report back on specific topics in gerontology. There are also Web Resources which are listed at the end of each chapter which can be used to supplement your postings and responses if you like. Your textbook has several vignettes which will be the basis of another short written assignment.

Finally, you will have a cumulative online final exam. There is a printable outline that you should use to review for your final exam. Be aware that the final exam will be scheduled during the seventh week of class.

The assignments, the text, and this Web site have been designed to help you achieve success in the course. The student should examine the objectives for the weekly assignments, complete text assignments, quiz questions and any activities assigned. Each of these components was designed to illustrate and demonstrate the world of gerontology that you are reading about in your text.
