After reading this chapter, students should be able to:
- Recognize the prevalent attitudes and beliefs about sex and love in old age that frequently affect an older persons sexuality.
- Define the age-related physiological changes that may alter the nature of older mens
and womens sexual response and performance.
- Know that the above changes do not necessarily interfere with their overall experience
of sexuality.
- Recognize gay and lesbian relationships.
- Examine the importance of late-life affection, love and intimacy.
- Understand the implications for families and professionals who work with older people.

Quiz 1 covers Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 15. It is worth 50 points (25 questions at 2 points each). All
quizzes are open book. It is best to click on View Quiz 1,
print the quiz and choose the correct answers before attempting to take
the quiz online. After you decide your answers, click on Take
Quiz 1 and submit your answers. You will be allowed to take the quiz only one
time. Quiz results will be e-mailed to you immediately after you have
submitted your quiz. If you do not get your results via e-mail, resubmit
the quiz. If you have difficulties taking the quiz, call the testing
